St Mary, North Marden
Places Of Worship
Title: St Mary, North Marden
Description: Accessed through a farmyard, the small church of St Mary is one of the simplest Norman buildings to be found. Dating from the mid-twelfth century, the nave and chancel walls are continuous, with the porch added at a later time; the fine doorway that is built of Caen stone is original. Only one of the three windows in the apse was built with the church, although the two later additions are very good copies.
